Dust 514 is a first person shooter developed by CCP Games and currently only available to Playstation 3. The game connected and affect the world of CCP other game, Eve Online. It featured impressive character and weapon work. Josh Powers, currently a senior artist at Certain Affinity is one of the artist that contribute to Dust 514 array of weaponry, from pistol to machine gun and everything in between
Defiance is a video game tied to the TV series with the same name, it’s an MMO third person shooter developed by Trion Worlds, famous for it’s other MMO, Rift. Defiance is available for PS3, Xbox360 and also on PC through Steam, it received with mixed opinion by the critics with current metacritic score of 60 on the console version.The game featured extensive customization, on the look and gameplay element, being a third person shooter Defiance featured awesome array of weaponry. These character and weapon brought by the team at Trion Worlds, one of them is Satoshi Arakawa. Satoshi have contribute to few games such as Untold Legends 2 PSP, Free Realms and Clonewars Adventures Online.
With Killzone: Shadowfall due to launch at the end of this year as a launch title for PS4, we look back to it’s predecessor, Killzone 3. It’s a visually stunning game, with cool vfx and memorable enemies, the Helghast. We’ve featured the character art of the game before, the work of Rudi Massar. Killzone 3 also started with great concept art, ome of them come from KARAKTER a concept art and design studio based on Berlin, Germany. KARAKTER have contribute to many high quality title games and movies such as Ubisoft’s Anno series, Game of Thrones tv series and of course Killzone 3.
Bernard Beneteau is currently a senior character artist at WB Games Chicago / Netherrealm Studios, who have released their latest game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game featuring many DC superheroes such a Superman, Batman, Flash, etc and pit them against each other, on a Mortal Kombat fight style. Injustice have been receiving very positive response from the reviewer and currently got 81 on Metacritic.
Other than Injustice: Gods Among Us, Bernard have contribute to many other games like the 2011 critically acclaimed Mortal Kombat, and also Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. These are some of Bernard Beneteau work on Injustice: Gods Among Us characters.
Ovidiu Cristian Matei currently an associate art director at EA Sports in Bucharest, Romania. Before that he was a lead artist at EA Mobile where he created many artwork for EA’s IOS and Android game. Some of the project he have contribute to are Red Alert for Iphone and Ipad, Theme Park and Sims 3 World Adventures among others. With many limitation on the current generation of mobile device Ovidiu have succeed on creating high quality art assets that looks as good as their console counterpart. Ovidiu also work for Gameloft before EA, it’s another major player on the mobile gaming industry.
Ricky Zhang currently work as a character artist for Kojima Productions Los Angeles, known for it’s Metal Gear Solid series. Before that Ricky work for Insomniac, the studios whose artist we’ve featured here before for their latest game, Fuse. Ricky’s contribute to many of Insomniac’s game, such as Resistance: Fall of Man, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance 2, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time, Resistance 3, and the latest being Fuse.
Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014, a collectible card video game based on the wildly popular trading card game Magic: The Gathering is just released. As always the cards features some of the best illustration work found in the industry. Brad Rigney also known as Cryptcrawler, his internet handle, is one of the artist contributing to the card artwork in this game. Brad’s artwork featured on the 2014 iteration of the game but his contribution stretch back to many previous iteration of the series, he also kind of specializes on trading card illustration with many of his work are in that particular area. Other trading card game that feature Brad’s work is Legend of the Cryptids, which launched in mobile platform.

As a continuation to our previous post, we feature another amazing individual that brought you the game Remember Me. This time it’s the character artist for Dontnod Entertainment, Bastien Ramisse. On Remember Me, Bastien contribute to some of the important character in the game, such as Gabriel Trace, Scylla and many other, he used Zbrush to sculpt the character, then retopo it on 3DCoat, texturing was done in Photoshop, and finally it’s integrated in Unreal for the game.
Gary Jamroz-palma is a senior concept artist at Dontnod Entertainment based in Paris. The studio just released Remember Me, a third person action adventure game featuring protagonist Nilin, a former memory hunter. Apart from being a senior concept artist at Dontnod, Gary also done many freelance work for film industry, book cover etc.
Warframe is a free to play, third person action game developed by Digital Extremes. It’s currently available for PC and was announced that will also be available at Playstation 4 when it launched later this year. The game featured the protagonist race Tenno and pit them against aliens Griner and Corpus. The game featured similar art style to other Digital Extremes game, Dark Sector that launched in 2008, even the name Tenno in Warframe is also named after the protagonist in Dark Sector named Hayden Tenno.
The space ninjas not only kicking the Griner ass, they are mowing the enemy in style. With very cool character design, awesome katana and stylish rifle, this really is a very handsome looking game. Mat Makin a character artist at Digital Extremes is one of the guy that bring the awesomeness of the game to the next level, he made some of the helmets for the Warframes. Other than this game Mat also contribute to The Darkness 2 and Star Trek, both developed by Digital Extremes.
